The Final 5

As Robby was out for a run the other night, he had what experts would call an epiphany. Robby and I have tried to enjoy as much quality food we can afford during our last semester as students. We have attempted to cook our food but we soon came to realize that we are not great cooks. Attaining edibility was easy but achieving delicious food is way harder than the Barefoot Cantessa makes it look. Since we have accepted our mediocrity in the culinary world, we have decided to leave it to the professionals as we finish the semester.
Robby's epiphany was to visit five of our favorite Auburn restaurants that we would be deprived of in the future. This journey will begin on November 1st with Maestro 2300's Walk about Wine tasting. We have already been to one Walk about Wine tasting at Maestro and it was the best money I have spent on food in my life. For $25 we had ten different foods paired with its own individual wine. We also could go back for seconds. The phrase "All you can eat" took on an entirely new meaning for Robby and myself that night.

The next four restaurants are tentative but we are planning on visiting Amsterdam Cafe, Zazu, and Mandarin House. The fifth restaurant could be something like Locos or Laredos. Locos is in the running because of how many "Big Gun" lunches I've had there laughing with my past roommates of The Edge. Truly one of my favorite places but it isn't technically localized to Auburn. Laredos is in the running because it's local and it is the best Mexican restaurant in Auburn but it holds no emotional connection for me. Maybe Pannie George's? Any suggestions???

  2. I would go to Barbeque House and order everything on the menu. It'll only cost you about $20 so it's totally worth it.
